@ Kara: you don't have long anymore. Your husband is a bit late in realising that the baby will need a room, but I guess it's beter now than after the baby is born.
@eva-christine: hopefully the landlord sees the light!
@Mrs. Bee: yes, it's probably just a phase, but those phases can often be too damn long!
@ us: I engaged a handyman to renovate the bathroom (take old sink out, take out build-in cupboard, put new tiles where the walls now do not have tiles anymore, install new (double) sink, ...) If I wait for my husband to arrange it with my father-in-law (as he was going to do several months ago), then I guess the bathroom would never be ready. We now live 6 months in our house and I finally would like to be able to use the bathroom. Up untill now, we have been using the small toilet/sink/shower downstairs as our only bathroom. Also: our new kitchen was installed in july and the ugly naked wall between the upper and the lower cupboards is still not tiled (another job my father-in-law was going to do). I guess I'm going to put them (hubby and his dad) an ultimatum: kitchenwall done by christmas or ... (still have to think of what I can threaten them wil   )

@Mrs. Bee: I'm still feeling fine (after an iron infusion last week, it's made a right difference). I can't believe how quick the time went. I just hope now, that the last few weeks pass as quickly. I'm busy enough, because boy wants to do Christmas preparations, baking and all the things he's used to and I still haven't done his advent calendar...I don't think I'll get bored.

@katreseke: Hubby needs the pressure. Once he starts, he does a good and thorough job, but getting him started isn't always easy  Hope your kitchen gets sorted before Christmas then. We were without kitchen tiles for quite some time till we'd decided what we wanted. In the end we went for square white ordinary tiles :D

@us: boy had his Räbeliechtli-Umzug yesterday. He couldn't believe, that we had to go out again till almost midnight :D

Aw, Räbeliechtli - I love them. Much nicer than pumpkins

Luckily little man has a grandma who likes to bake and potter around the house. His mother is slightly challenged in that regard

Kara: I had to take iron tablets almost through the whole of my pregnancy, and took them with Weleda Vital Sanddorn Juice - really helped getting me in gear in the morning. The vitamin C helps absorb the iron in the food much better, and Sanddorn is not as acidy as orange juice (which gave me heartburn  )

I should be doing an adventscalendar for my godson too, but haven't the foggiest yet of what I'll put in. Some chocolate is fine, but not too much. I guess I'll stick to Lego - always a safe bet!

Katreske: Aaah, so you too have a handyman at home?? You should see our garden that hubby will be weeding "the next saturday". Unfortunately, that Saturday never arrives. So it's a jungle out there. I guess you'll have to give them a dead-line, and if they don't follow through threaten them with a specialist. Sometimes that helps!

Eva: wohoo - could you get the paint job done?

Hahaha Mrs. Bee! They will do it "the next saturday" is indeed correct !!! And yes, that saturday just fails to arrive. Anyway, by the middle of next week my bathroom should finally be ready and I can finally move all my creams and lotions and God-knows-what from the basement to the bathroom (current guest toilet does not have that much space. It's already a struggle to find a space for the 5 toothbrushes and 3 tubes of toothpaste  )

The waiting game is over. Our daughter was born this morning by c- section. She's tiny, 47 cm and 2800 g, but doing fine. We're very happy.

Congratulations Kara!!!
Is there a reason why she is born early or did she just have no more patience :D Is she with you in the room or does she need special care? My twins were born at 37,5 weeks (one was 2.2 kg and the other 3.1 kg  ) and were the whole time with me in a normal bed. I hope you are all fine and that you can enjoy your little wonder.

Thank you for the good wishes. I had an appointment for a CTG-scan last friday and the scan showed regular contractions. I'd felt the odd hardning of the belly for the last two weeks, but these were really regular. My doctor was worried that my previous scar wasn't strong enough and sent me straight to the hospital for a second opinion - and they kept me in for the night, ready to operate the next morning, when I was 37+0, which means the baby was classed as full term. She's in the room with me all the time and feeding well. I've just got to get used to such a tiny baby. She weighs only 2/3 of what her brother was, but then, he was a giant at 4160g
That's it. I'm fine as well, if a bit sore, and can do most of the baby related tasks.
Hubby's at home, trying to get the house ready for when we get home. Boy is quite fascinated by how tiny his sister is and he's happy with her name.

Thanks, Eva. I can't believe, she's already two weeks old. I'm slowly coming back out of my baby bubble and am starting to do every day things. The christmas frenzy hasn't reached me yet, but hubby started talking about mince pies. Boy is the best ever big brother. He doesn't seem to be at all jealous (yet) and adores his baby sister. The poor lad's been off kindergarten for half of last weekwith a really bad cold and high temperature. So he wanted to sleep in my bed, which means I'm seriously lacking sleep, but I think things are improving. Girl slept for about seven hours last night from midnight onwards.
That's it for us.
Hope everyone is fine.

@Kara: hopefully she keeps up the sleeping times and you'll be able to sleep longer at night.
(I miss my little babies, but I don't miss the severe lack of sleep from the early months/years)

@ everybody else: who has their Christmas tree up yet? I haven't because I refuse to do it before "Samichlaus" has come. So at the end of the week I guess I'll have to go digging in the unopened boxes that have been standing in the basement since we moved.

Oooh, a nice breakfast roll with red sauce would be nice :D
I miss those from Ireland: warm breakfast rolls with sausage, egg and loads of ketchup from the shop around the corner.

@mrs. Bee: how obvious! :D. Have fun in England. My shopping list would be way too long. I think I'll wait till we go, hopefully during boy's skiing holidays.

@us: baby girl is areal sweetie, boy loves her to bits and is very protective. Girl has reached her birth weight again. She still doesn't fit into most of the size 56 clothes. So I went and bought her some clothes in size 50 today. Manor don't even have that size :|
Boy's been off sick from kindergarten for the second time in the last two weeks. His temperature was sky high at the weekend. I'll keep him at home again tomorrow and hope, he'll be better on wednesday. He's hard work because he's used to being entertained now. So I've not had chance to do much recently.
Christmas still seems a long way away, haven't thought about presents yet.

That's fine - I'll have to bring back a turkey for Christmas  Luckily a frozen one and not one going gobbelgobbel on the backseat. With little man being less than impressed of having to sit down for so long the noise level will be enough, I think.

So glad to hear your little lady is behaving like one
Little one had an ear infection last week, was not much fun. Hopefully no more bugs around!!

Hello Ladies

We're off tomorrow. Bags are packed, car isn't - but that's hubbies business
I'll read but don't know how often I'll get a chance to write... won't forget about you though!

Take care, and enjoy the last minute Christmas preparations.
