So you're shipping most stuff to Switzerland or are you having a garage sale?
I hate moving and the thought of having to ship everything across the Ocean boggles the mind. I'm a hamster, unfortunately, and hoard everything

Kara: how are you copying with 2? (don't they just get spoilt in Kindergarten with a fulltime programm for the day  )

@swisscanmom, looks like we're on the same schedule. W're also busy sorting through our stuff and trying to find a good, not too expensive shipping company. It's shocking how much stuff one collects during the cause of 5 years.
We'll be coming over for a short visit in 3 weeks. Hoping to be able to view some flats. It would be a good feeling knowing where we will be living already.
And also we're thinking of taking our car and making it a road trip - driving all the way from Istanbul to Berne. Sounds fun, but we may opt for the ferry instead. Less hours in the car with 2 small kids...

Good morning everybody
Hubby took a day off to look after the kids so I could go to work (mother-in-law normally takes them 1 day in the week, but she is on holidays) and since I didn't have to wait for Kindergarten to open to be able to leave for work, I got up at 5 and took the 6 'o clock train. Looking forward to working withouth interruptions of the children today. Yes, I'm the jammy bastard (Irish slang for what the English would call "lucky sod") who can work part-time from home
I called hubby at 07:15 to be sure he got his 3 princesses up and that he had the breakfast going :D Good I did because he was still in bed  All 3 have to be ready for Kindergarten around 8:05 ...

On a different note: a lot of people moving to CH apparently this summer and some of them to the Bern area ... maybe we should do an "English speaking swissmom meeting" towards middle/end of summer ? Would there be any takers?

Hihi, hubby already called twice. Once to ask what he had to give the girls for their snack in Kindergarten (I made the little boxes this morning and put it in their bags) and once to ask how to make a coffee :D :D :D :D with the maschine I bought half a year ago ... Men  :D
I hope he can locate the deepfreezer and find the lasagna's I bought for lunch ...

Hahahaha! Katreske, I hear ya!
My husband acts so helpless when he's got to take care of the kids. I'd almost feel sorry for him, but it's only an act, that's it. He lived alone for more than 10 years, yet since we got married he must have forgotten completely how to clean, do laundry or any other useful tasks around the house. It would be funny if it wasn't me doing it instead...
@englishswissmoms-meeting
I'm in. But we'll arrive only beginning of August, so I'd say end of August at the earliest... Great idea though!

I'd definitely be up for a meet-up in the summer.
@Mrs bee, we had a huge garage sale a couple of weeks ago, and we are selling lots of stuff on kijiji. We are only taking a minimum amount of things, no furniture. Luckily the new owners of our home want to buy our bedroom set, so at least we'll have a bed until the very last day.

Good morning Ladies
Moving house---not for me. We've still got some unpacked boxes in the attic, with thing that we obviously don't need.

@Mrs. Bee: We're more or less coping, thanks. Boy has always been a right handful and it's sometimes difficult to keep him off his sister. She's a little cutie still and we're happy to have her.

@meeting: Bern is way out of my area.

Enjoy the sunny day

Hello Ladies, we have a crazy week behind us. Boy turned six last week and he had his party yesterday. We had seven of his friends here yesterday. Hubby did his back in last weekend, putting his running shoes on  , so he could barely move, leave alone help. It all went well, with cake and sweets and boy is now in Lego paradise. He got a box from every single child and not just small boxes!!!
I hope the next week is a bit quieter and the weather improves!

I've got lots of cute little summer clothes for baby girl, that will be of no use if the weather doesn't improve rapidly.
Colds: both kids are coughing and sneezing. Hubby and I are feeling washed out. I want summer!

On a positive note: I've got loads of shower gel to test. I registerd with die insider a few weeks ago and now they sent 6 bottles of shower gel from le petit marseilais and there's meant to be som nestlé baby food coming. :D

Hi there ladies
How is everybody? Are you all keeping dry and warm? Who still has the heating on at home?
We switched off our heating about a month ago, but without using the fire place every day, we would be freezing! And we're still using long sleeved t-shirts and winter sweaters  It was the second morning in a row that one of the girls complained about not having on gloves to walk to Kindergarten ... I can't believe that tomorrow it is June and my children have such cold hands outside that they ask for gloves! And all the new summer dresses are hanging unused in the cupboard.
Although I am not a summer person (too hot, too much sun), I am getting mightely fed up with this weather and with the colds which visit our family one after another. I have been coughing for 2 weeks now and just when it is getting better, my hubby and the children got the next cold
But ... (not to get too negative here) ... there are things to look forward to: family vacation in July, the twins that will go to the first class in August (they are more than ready for it), the rain that will eventually stop ...

we've still got the heating on, but I still find it's on the cool side in our house. We're all made up with colds again. Boy turned six last week, and wants to be a butterfly at kindergarten now. He was a bit disappointed that he's still a caterpillar till after the summer holidays, even though he's six and needs a ticket on the bus.
keep warm.

Weather in Canada is flip flopping constantly. 28 degrees and thunderstorms yesterday, today the furnace is on. But it hasn't been as bad as in Switzerland, so we can't complain. Our home is slowly, too slowly, emptying out, having some trouble selling our furniture for a decent price. 3 weeks until the movers come. 4 weeks until we travel!
